What I ate: "PP", "Ryan", and I shared ... ![]() Three scoops (5.50 USD): (clockwise from top) Lavender Honey, Fresh Mint with Cacao Nibs, Brown Sugar Vanilla Bean. Wow! The Lavender Honey was floral, richly sweet, and conveyed a golden sunniness in every spoonful. The Fresh Mint with Cacao Nibs had a wonderfully fresh mint flavor - not overpowering - and the cacao nibs added flavor and texture - crunch. If you've never had fresh mint before, make sure you try this one. The Brown Sugar Vanilla Bean was tasty as well. It tasted pretty much how it sounds: vanilla flavor and molasses sweetness. The best ice cream of the day? It was a toss up between the Lavender Honey and Fresh Mint with Cacao Nibs. For me, I thought the Fresh Mint was better because it was better balanced. I wish this store was bigger, that it had space for tables. There's no place to relax and to enjoy your ice cream :( Dude, that Cucumber Sorbet sells out fast. I would've bought some if it was still available when "PP", "Ryan", and I rolled in around 4 PM. Parking: Street parking only. The parking lot immediately next door is only for the pharmacy in front of it and House of Basturma. The Bill: 5.50 USD. My Rating:
stars out
of four stars (very good). Open Sunday to Thursday, 12 PM to 9 PM,
and Saturday and Sunday, 12 PM to 10 PM. Credit cards
accepted. www.carmelaicecream.com![]() Last Word: Dang, I thought I made good ice cream, but Carmela's ice creams are really something special. ![]() blog comments powered by Disqus |
