What I ate: "PA" and I shared the following ... ![]() ![]() 1. Complimentary bread, Lucques olives, Marcona almonds. The bread smelled of honey and had a beautiful crumb. The butter was SUPERB. The Lucques and Marconas were a pleasure. ![]() 2. Green Goddess Salad (14 USD): Market lettuces, radish, Cara Cara orange. This salad was nice. I appreciated the balance between the creamy sauce and tartness of the Cara Cara. ![]() 3. Braised Short Rib (25 USD): Swiss chard, roasted cippolini, horseradish cream. This is one of Chef Suzanne Goin's signature items on the menu at Lucques. You have to eat all the components together in one bite to truly appreciate the greatness of this dish. There was the piquant flavor from the horseradish cream, bitter quality of the Swiss chard, the fruit flavor of the sauce, the sweetness of the cippolini, the crucial starch component, and the meatiness of the rib. The short rib was oh-so-tender fall apart. ![]() 4. Chicken Paillard (21 USD): Polenta, kale, mustard crème fraîche, horseradish gremolata. This dish was a pleasure. The polenta was enriched with cheese and butter - decadent. ![]() 5. Alex's Lemon Coupe (10 USD): Candied tangerine, crème fraîche, pistachio. The intense tartness of the lemon ice cream was tempered by the earthy nuttiness of pistachios, the richness of crème fraîche, and the tame segments of tangerine. I thought this dessert worked very well: it was a symphony of flavors. Service was EXEMPLARY. Thank you, Greg, for a memorable occasion! Ah! There's so much more I want to say, so much more that I want to gush in praise of this restaurant! One reason why I like fine dining is the attention to detail. Lucques scored BIG TIME in this aspect. Parking: There is valet parking at the restaurant. At lunchtime, you can park in the neighborhood around the restaurant for free, but for dinner, you'll have to do valet or use the metered street parking in the area. The Bill: Around 75 USD. THANK YOU SO MUCH, "PA"! My Rating:
