Vegas Seafood Buffet (VSB) in Glendale, C-A.

The Original "P" and I had dinner here over the weekend.

What I ate:

First plate: Sushi. I thought the sushi at VSB was the best sushi I had ever seen at a buffet - actually edible! I liked the sake nigiri best.

Second plate: Asian hot items. I thought I was brave, if not foolhardy, for trying the oyster. It was okay and I didn't have problems later on, if you know what I mean! Other items on this plate (clockwise from top): Mongolian beef, kabocha tempura (my favorite tempura), oyster, shrimp salad with bacon, salt & pepper shrimp, coconut shrimp.

Third plate: More hot items. Clockwise from top: Orange chicken, shumai, clams, baby back BBQ pork rib, yakitori, melted cheese on shrimp, salt & pepper crab, Brazilian BBQ sausage, Brazilian BBQ lamb, green beans.
The baby back BBQ pork rib was the best pork rib I've ever had at a buffet. The meat was tender and moist: it's usually dry and tough at other buffets. On the other hand, the lamb was totally dry: I wanted to choke.

Fourth plate: Cold items (no photo). I just tried some seafood salad, romaine with "Vegas Dressing", and a couple pieces of sushi.

Fifth plate: Desserts. The crème brulée and panna cotta were decent. The cakes were so-so. The cheesecakes were disgusting. I could totally tell that the cakes were bought from a vendor - not made in house. Desserts are VSB's weakest area.

I didn't wait in line for it but VSB had a teppanyaki station. It was popular.

Service was TERRIBLE! I thought there weren't enough servers to handle the volume of diners. So "P" and I had to go out of our way to ask for everything we needed and we had to wait an inordinate amount of time for service. I felt invisible at Vegas Buffet.

Parking: Park at the ramp located on Maryland Avenue (one block east of Brand) or across the street at the Galleria (behind In-N-Out). Parking is free at the Galleria. At the ramp on Maryland, it's two hours free with validation.

The Bill: Around 45 USD. Thank you "P" (and family) for treating me to dinner!

My Rating: No star out of four stars (satisfactory). If not for the terrible service, I would've awarded one star to Vegas Buffet. Open for lunch Monday to Friday, 11 AM to 3:30 PM. Open for dinner Monday to Friday, 4 PM to 9 PM, closing an hour later on Friday (10 PM). Open all day on Saturday and Sunday, 11:30 AM to 10 PM, closing one hour earlier on Sundays and holidays (9 PM). Credit cards accepted. www.vegasseafoodbuffet.com

Last Word: I'm getting killed with food these days! I'm worn out!
